In addition to the “morning song”, ISJ offers other ecumenical services, where all students can participate, regardless of faith.
Church Services:
During the school year, church services take place approximately once a month.
The ecumenical church services are held in the local public church – “Esajas Kirke” – as well as in the catholic cathedral “Sankt Ansgar”. At the ecumenical church services, both a protestant and a catholic clergyman are in attendance.
Advent Party:
At the beginning of December, the primary school celebrates an Advent Party. At 5pm, students, teachers and parents gather at Esajas kirke or Sankt Ansgar kirke for a church service.
Afterwards, everyone goes back to the school, where they dine in the classrooms.
Saint Lucia Celebration:
Every year on December 13th, ISJ celebrates the feast day of Saint Lucia. The students participate in a Saint Lucia parade around the school, which ends with a gathering in the Theatre Hall.
