The school staff were at school on a Saturday!

The school’s teachers and social educators attended at theme day on Catholic humanistic formation with a particular focus on Dag Hammarskjöld. Dag Hammarskjöld, who was the United Nations General Secretary (1953-61) is also the name of the street our school is on. He was highly appreciated for his work and was speculative and religious person. Many of the concerns he had fit in completely with the school’s values, so it has been clear to us that we should also be examining his thoughts on the human condition.
One person who is somewhat of an expert on Dag Hammarskjöld is Sister Anna Christina, a nun at the Carmelite convent in Hillerød. So after an informative introduction to the Carmelite order given by Jesper Fich, the Catholic parish priest in Frederiksberg, the ISJ staff took a bus to visit Sister Anna Christina. After her lecture, in Swedish, we held mass with the nuns in their chapel.
On that day, the Swedish and Vatican flags were seen flying side by side outside the school…see the next article.

The pictures show Jesper Fich speaking about the Carmelite order in the theatre, and the teachers and pædagoger visiting the convent.
