Gerda Moltzens Scholarship

Gerda Moltzen was a teacher at Jeanne D’Arc school in Frederiksberg, where she had been a student. In the tragic bombings that occurred on 21 March 1945, Gerda Moltzen fearlessly went into the bombed out school to save as many children as possible from the burning buildings. She saved many children that day, but sadly passed away when the walls collapsed.  In memory of her heroic effort, the Gerda Moltzens Scholarship was established in 1988.

The scholarship is given annually to 3 students from Institut Sankt Joseph: two half-scholarships and one full scholarship – the latter is specifically earmarked for the daughter of a single mother. The school is very grateful to be able to assist our students with this scholarship. There is no formal application form; rather to apply one must send in a written letter with accompanying documentation of financial means for example, (års or forskudsopgørelse). The application window opens in May and to be eligible for the scholarship, the application must be received before the 15th of August.

TCS Scholarship Fund

Institut Sankt Joseph has partnered with Tata Consultancy Services, a branch of the TATA – group, a multi-national corporation with offices in Denmark and headquarters in India. TCS has generously agreed to offer 4 half scholarships to students at Institut Sankt Joseph. This means that TCS funds half of the school fees for the academic year with the other half to be paid via parental fees. The scholarship is valid for one academic year and subject to review before continuation.

The TCS scholarship recipients have already been chosen for 2017-18, but to apply for one of the TCS scholarships for 2018-19, one must write a letter of intent, document a financial burden (via a recent tax return) and explain the family connection to Denmark.  The letter and documentation should be sent to International Department Head Thomas Mulhern

The application window for school year 2018-19 opens 1 August 2017, and the deadline for submitting an application is 1 April 2018.

Transportation subsidies

You may be eligible for a transportation subsidy to help offset the cost of transportation costs from school to home. Eligibility is determined by the distance from school to home and the age of the children.

All inquiries regarding grants and scholarships (excluding the TCS scholarships) should be sent to the school secretary.
