Yes…maybe by doing a timeline? In a 7th grade history class (7b.), the students got a bunch of cards with historical highlights and important characters which they were to place, as precise as possible, on the red line of history. Where are we going to put the dinosaur? Was the flying machine invented before the automobile? Socrates, did he live before or after the Reformation? Quite hard to tell if you don´t know! Questions like these led to much debate. The students checked if the timeline was correct: consulting books or the internet, and to do the necessary changes. In the end, the timeline was adjusted and the students got a better grip on “the good old days.”
