ISJ competed in the annual International schools Rugby Tournament in Odense hosted by Odense International School. ISJ submitted 5 teams competing against 36 other teams with over 264 students from across Denmark. The day provided a great introduction into the world of competitive rugby and gave the U12 team a chance to defend their Gold medal from last year. Due to new age rules they had to be submitted in the U14 category but showed great resilience to secure 5th place out of 12, despite being 2 years younger than most of their competitors. The two U12 teams played each other in the final for 4th place in a thrilling game that was drawn 5-5 at half time with ISJ1 just seeking a late minute victory in the 2nd half. All teams on the day showed great resilience, team work and sportsmanship and we are all looking forward to next years’ competition.
